Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 can dark kidney beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 can light kidney beans drained and rinsed
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes or chopped fresh
  • celery chopped
  • green pepper chopped
  • onion chopped
  • salt, pepper, sugar to taste
  • 1-2 tsp Chili Spice Mix (see below)

Chili Spice Mix

  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp minced dried onion
  • tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cumin

Instructions

  • Brown ground beef and onions
  • Add tomato sauce and all other ingredients
  • Add water to desired consistency
  • Simmer until done

Notes

I sometimes use dried kidney beans that have soaked to soften overnight.
